Entwicklercamp 2008: final thoughts about the event

I must say: I'm positively suprised. It was my first time at Entwicklercamp and I was not sure about the deepth of information one can get there.
But all sessions I visited were good or even excellent and contained really good stuff. I learned a lot. And I met many friendly and interesting people, in fact the whole event is not only about learning, but about networking with other people. I drive home now having my mind full of ideas and I could lock me in for the next two months and do nothing but coding, testing and playing :-) The event will have influence on how our products will envolve in the future. The location did not had an ICE connection (german high speed train), but beside that, it was very nice. The hotel was elegant, the staff friendly, the food excellent, the organisation near to perfection. Perhaps Rudi looked a little bit chaotic sometimes, but in the end he manages everything very well. And even if some really bad thing happens (like a speaker getting ill....), he can switch immediately and work around the problem. One biggest advantage of the Camp events: it's familiar. Not that much people (around 200 at Entwicklercamp), and it's so easy to get in touch with others. It's just like a big family :-) So: thank you Rudi and your team. I'm happy I was there and I already marked my calendar for the next time. |
